A gaming revolution has begun.....

The Sony PSP is the latest entry into the portable gaming market. Sony released it to the US on March 24, 2005. The PSP was targeted for an older user base, 19yrs to 34yr olds, ie the original "Nintendo" generation much like the original Playstation.

The first 2 day sales totaled around 500,000 units sold in the US launch according to Sony. So the PSP legacy has begun....

The unit retails for around $250 for the Value Pack (PSP, Headphones/remote, Battery, 32MB Memory Stick Duo, Sampler UMD, and for first one million units a Spiderman 2 UMD movie). Many places are offering Combo / Bundle packs. Sony's handheld boasts some very nice specs for being a portable gaming device. But then again, it seems Sony doesn't want the PSP to be JUST a gaming device but a portable entertainment all-in-one. It lets you view photos, listen to music, watch videos, and of course play games.
